The Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center of New England (VESCONE) in Waltham, Massachusetts has an opening for ACVS board-certified surgeon(s) or individuals who have completed residency training.

The current surgical practice at VESCONE is relocating. This is an opportunity to take a healthy existing client base and make it grow, under a new direction.

VESCONE is an AAHA accredited referral hospital located just west of Boston. Our 15,000 sq ft state-of-the art facility utilizes a range of diagnostic imaging modalities including film/digital radiography, GE ultrasound, rigid and flexible video endo/rhino/bronchoscopy; fluoroscopy and a possible MRI are slated for this year. We also offer digital EKG telemetry, surgical ventilation, oximetry, capnography, full laboratory, blood bank, and NIBP/IBP monitoring. We are fully computerized and have 4 fully equipped ORs, including complete plating and external fixation systems, and a new surgical prep area with central oxygen and suction. We strive to offer the most current medical treatment available and are open to new procedures and instrumentation as needed - you tell us what you need.

Our team consists of 2 consulting criticalists, 8 emergency/critical care doctors, on call emergency surgical staff, and a board certified internist, radiologist and ophthalmologist. Each department also has dedicated client communication liaison . Currently, we have openings for a second radiologist, internist, and cardiologist. We also work closely with 2 medical oncologists and a radiation oncologist from the New England Veterinary Oncology Group which is located in our facility. This is the only facility of its type in the area, complete with a Varian linear accelerator, and CT on site.

VESCONE sees referrals from over 550 veterinary practices from all over New England. We are open 24/7 and have expertly trained, completely licensed support staff. We offer on-site continuing education program to our own staff, referring community, and the public.

VESCONE desires a board certified criticalist or a residency trained veterinarian to act as Department Head.

Located in the Metro West area of Boston, our well-equipped facility includes a complete Surgical, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Ophthalmology and Emergency and Critical Care Departments, with a Cardiology consultation service.  We have a full laboratory with blood gas, coagulation profiling, blood bank, a wide array of monitoring tools including a new digital ECG telemetry, new multiparameter monitors, surgical ventilators, pulse oximetry, capnography, oxygen monitors, tonometry, direct/indirect blood pressure, ultrasound, endoscopy, defibrillation, digital radiography and most important of all – a completely certified nursing staff, including 5 VTS (ECC) nurses.  Our very uniquely designed 13,000 sq. ft. hospital house a 20 X 50 ft. treatment area featuring separate nurses/doctors stations, 4 glass enclosed intensive care units, conference room, 2 special procedures suites, 2 radiology suites and 4 large surgical suites.
