| VESCONE forges
relationship with Hanscomb AFB |
09/2004
The US Military Hanscomb Air Force Base elected VESCONE
as the main medical care provider for the base's
military dogs. All the Belgian Shepherd and Belgian
Mallinois dogs kenneled at Hanscomb are sent to VESCONE
for any emergency or specialty care they need if injured
while in duty.
The military dogs are partnered with soldiers after a
rigorous process of selection to match dog and human partner.
These dogs are the canine unit that served during the
2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston. VESCONE
was instructed to see any dogs suffering from injuries
or illness during their Convention duty.
During their stay at VESCONE, each dog must be accompanied
and remain with his military partner. We work as a team
to get them back on their feet as soon as possible. Hanscomb
calls their canine unit “"brave and good soldiers".
And at VESCONE, we are proud to serve these courageous
service dogs.
