VESCONE is a proud member of the Veterinary
Lifeline Partner Program through the ASPCA
Animal Poison Control Center, the only animal poison control
center in North America.
For toxic ingestion emergencies, immediate access to the latest
information and knowledge on how to diagnose exposure and
manage treatment is key to saving lives. Our membership provides
us a personal relationship with the ASPCA doctors who quickly
assess exposure and guide us to a treatment plan. This direct
and rapid access makes all the difference in helping to save
your pet.
Veterinary Lifeline Partners also receives support from
AnTox™, the most comprehensive
veterinary toxicology medical record system in the world.
It consists of an online medical records system and a medical
library, which provides and stores information on the patient,
the toxic substance and therapy plans. We receive an e-mail
summary for you and your veterinarian, ensuring records are
complete and keeping you abreast of the outcome and any new
updates on the particular toxin your pet has ingested.
We participate in the Continuing Education offered by the
ASPCA and are kept informed through their newsletter alerts
on Biosurveillance and toxicology tips.
VESCONE specialists internally and through the ASPCA, give
you the best veterinary medicine has to offer, every day.
| VESCONE Emergency Response
Team |
Our Department is
working to form an Emergency Response Team along with
the Waltham Emergency Response Service to assist the town
of Waltham and surrounding communities in sheltering
and treating pets in the event of natural disaster or threat
requiring evacuation.
Using the Humane Society Guidelines and First Aid classes,
we will put together a plan for pet owners to follow,
as well as have VESCONE be a resource for the community
in the event of such as crisis. The Massachusetts Emergency
Management Association (MEMA) has met with area veterinarians
to start to form a veterinary team for each town in Massachusetts. |
