We are living in an exciting
age where medical science and technology are advancing at
lightning speed. But this information explosion has resulted
in the need for constant study of the science and art of
medicine, as well as new and expensive equipment. In the
last several years, specialization within veterinary medicine
has allowed increasingly complex diagnostic and treatment
options for animals. There are currently 20 recognized veterinary
specialties. Currently our specialties include Emergency
and Critical Care, Surgery,
Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Oncology with
the New England
Veterinary Oncology Group, and Cardiology via a mobile
consultant several days per week.
Focusing on a particular medical specialty allows specialists
to stay abreast of the most recent knowledge, refine techniques
and provide expensive equipment, which would otherwise be
impossible. Family veterinarians are able to utilize the
variety of veterinary specialists at VESCONE as resource
to provide state-of-the-art medical care for your pet's complicated
or rare heath problems.
