VESCONE Surgery offers complete emergency and specialty surgical services and is dedicated to providing the highest level of expertise in diagnosis, treatment of surgical disease, and postoperative supportive care to our patients. Pain control is an important aspect of patient care and we, at VESCONE, are committed to ensuring pre- and postoperative patient comfort. VESCONE Surgery is located in a modern facility equipped with four surgical suites and an accompanying anesthesia and recovery area. The Surgery Department is equipped to provide a complete range of the most up-to-date surgical procedures and has the latest in anesthetic multiparameter monitors, ventilators and inhalant anesthetic machines. Our staff provides anesthetic protocols that are tailored to fit the patient.
The VESCONE Surgery staff is board certified in surgery, residency trained, or are residents in training and provide, as a team, a variety of soft tissue, orthopedic, maxillofacial and neurosurgical procedures. The surgical nursing staff includes personnel VTS certified in anesthesiology and licensed in physical therapy. Because we are part of VESCONE, patients have continuity in monitoring status, anesthetic recovery and postoperative care with staff in our Emergency and Critical Care Department.
Hours of Operation:
Our staff is available to help you make your appointment Monday through Friday, from 8:00a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Emergency appointments are accepted at all hours and will be seen by the first available doctor, either in VESCONE Surgery or through VESCONE Emergency and Critical Care.
Appointments:
Appointments can be made by requesting a particular surgeon or will be scheduled on the first available time slot.
Preparing for your appointment:
Please bring any medical records, radiographic study, or other pertinent information with you to your appointment. This will help decrease your wait time. Please allot sufficient time for your appointment. The doctor often will ask you to wait while the results of some testing are accomplished so that he or she can speak with you about the recommended treatment options based on test results.
Please fast your pet prior to the appointment so that a blood sample can be drawn the day of your appointment if surgery is planned for later that afternoon or the following day.
Visitation policy for hospitalized patients:
Our usual visiting hours at VESCONE are from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Visitation outside these hours can be arranged by speaking with the attending doctor. Visitation in the Intensive Care Unit is limited in duration and must be arranged in coordination with the ICU staff.
What to expect when your pet is hospitalized:
Clients will be contacted daily to provide information about their pets. Please be sure to provide appropriate phone number information and times when it is best to reach you.
